Calif. Newspaper Carrier Ruled Exempt From FAA
Hearst Communications can't force arbitration of a newspaper carrier's wage claims, a California federal judge ruled, saying that he is a "last-mile" interstate driver protected under an exemption to the Federal Arbitration Act because he delivers out-of-state papers.
