Newspapers Rip OpenAI, Microsoft Bids To End Copyright Suit
Eight newspapers accusing Microsoft Corp. and OpenAI Inc. of infringing copyrights of their works to train their chatbots have blasted the companies' dismissal bids in New York federal court, saying OpenAI's motion reads "like a press release" instead of a legal argument and that Microsoft is "focused on telling its story," which the papers contend "is full of holes."

Microsoft, OpenAI Call Papers' Suit A 'Copycat' Of NYT's Case
OpenAI and Microsoft Corp. have asked a New York federal court to toss the bulk of a copyright complaint from eight newspapers that accuses the companies of stealing their content to develop versions of ChatGPT, contending the lawsuit is modeled after one from The New York Times and saying the allegations mischaracterize the technology.

Alden Newspapers Allege OpenAI, Microsoft Rip Off IP
Eight regional newspapers owned by private equity giant Alden Global Capital sued OpenAI and Microsoft in New York federal court Tuesday, accusing the tech companies of ripping off the newspapers' copyrights and misappropriating news articles to train AI chatbots that also allegedly spread fake news falsely attributed to the newspapers.
