While the country hosts the World Cup and expedites preparations for the 2016 Olympics, in-house lawyers have a different reason to take note. The upcoming year also marks the country's enactment of its anti-corruption law, which takes effect at the end of January. For in-house counsel doing business in the sixth-largest economy in the world, the law will increase and intensify the precautions their companies need to take to remain compliant in Brazil.
