Presidential Candidates Should Rethink US Trade Policy

This appeal reflects an anger amongst a significant part of the electorate, as commented on by various media articles. Whatever benefits the country has received from expanded trade opportunities over the last decades, there are problems with the global trading system. The U.S. approach to solving those problems has resulted in a decades-long trade deficit and the consequent loss of jobs that such deficits signify.
