New Defense IP Provisions Will Impact Contractor Data Rights

Department of Defense's approach to acquiring and licensing intellectual property. The conference version of the 2018 National Defense Authorization Act (H. R. 2810) contains three categories of reform: establishment of specific instructions concerning the scope of intellectual property rights the DOD is to acquire; creation within the DOD of a cadre of intellectual property experts; and implementation of three pilot programs whose effects may be felt by contractors in the near future. . . .
