Deals Rumor Mill: CF Industries, Fiat Chrysler, CeramTec
By Linda Chiem ( July 17, 2015, 6:40 PM EDT) -- U.S. fertilizer maker CF Industries Holdings Inc. is in advanced merger talks with smaller Dutch rival OCI NV, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday. Deerfield, Illinois-based CF Industries, one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of nitrogen fertilizers used in agriculture, could potentially reach a deal on a tie-up with OCI this month, according to the report. While terms of the possible deal weren't yet available, the deal could reportedly be structured as a so-called tax inversion involving the U.S. company moving its tax headquarters abroad, the Journal said. The Netherlands-based OCI makes natural-gas-based fertilizers and industrial chemicals and has production facilities in the Netherlands, Egypt, Algeria and the U.S. CF's market valuation hovered around $14.1 billion on Friday, while OCI had a market value of €5.7 billion ($6.2 billion), according to the report....
