LP is closing in on a deal to buy helicopter ambulance company Air Medical Group Holdings Inc. from fellow private equity outfit Bain Capital LLC in a deal that could value Air Medical at roughly $2 billion including debt, Reuters reported on Tuesday. According to the report, the deal could become official as soon as later this week. New York-based KKR has been seeking to unload Air Medical since at least last month, when reports sprouted saying it had tasked Barclays PLC with helping to find a buyer. Air Medical Group operates more than 200 helicopters and about 25 airplanes, providing emergency transportation to more than 75,000 people per year throughout 27 states. Bain bought Air Medical Group in 2010 for about $1 billion....
