New Stats On Millennial Attorney Disciplinary Actions

By Jean Edwards ( June 29, 2018, 2:43 PM EDT) -- Data from attorney disciplinary organizations from 17 states and the District of Columbia contradicts a recent self-report study (known as the "Krill study"[1]) that indicated millennial attorneys are at a much higher risk for mental issues and substance abuse than older age groups. In fact, bar disciplinary data shows that although millennial attorneys exhibit an increasing trend in disciplinary actions beginning shortly after the start of their legal practice, the attorneys most at risk for disciplinary action stemming from mental issues and substance abuse data are middle-aged attorneys, who also receive the most disciplinary action of all attorneys....
