Law360, New York ( May 31, 2016, 10:26 PM EDT) -- Just about every lawyer has a bio page on the web. In today's digital society, that page is the lawyer's face to the rest of the world, and not just because it contains a photo. Web bios are supposed to plant a flag of existence in the online universe and serve as gateways for potential clients. Not having a web bio would be strange. Given how important they are, one might think they'd be well done, carefully crafted, and constructed to present their subjects in the most favorable and attractive light. Yet most attorney bios fail miserably. They are typically boring and poorly written. They do not inspire confidence or incline the viewer to consider retaining the featured lawyer to represent them, much less write one sentence in the Queen's English on their behalf. In short, they are weak advocacy. And if a lawyer can't even advocate strongly for herself, why would a client want to hire that lawyer?...
