By Benjamin Horney ( December 19, 2016, 6:09 PM EST) -- Goldman Sachs Group Inc. has raised $4.5 billion for a new private equity fund, according to a report from Dow Jones on Friday. According to the report, the firm expects to receive additional capital for the fund in the early parts of next year, with a final close at some point during the first half. The fund has a hard cap of $8 billion, the report said. The news comes a few months after reports first surfaced saying Goldman was aiming to raise between $5 billion and $8 billion for the fund, which marks its first corporate buyout vehicle since the financial crisis....
