White, a litigation partner in Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP's Washington, D.C., office, has served as lead counsel in over 80 federal and local jury trials and many more bench trials. He recently represented a prominent D.C.-area surgeon in his acquittal. The surgeon had been indicted by a federal grand jury on 60 counts of health care fraud, aggravated identity theft and obstruction of justice. During the five-week trial, the judge dismissed the identity theft charges, and after cross-examination of their case agent, the government voluntarily dismissed other fraud counts. In November 2015, the jury found the surgeon not guilty on all 41 of the remaining charges. In another matter, he was lead trial counsel to Lockheed Martin in an ERISA class action claiming more than $1 billion in damages. In 2015, the case settled for less than 5 percent of the sought damages. White is a former Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia and the District of Columbia, and a recipient of the U.S. Department of Justice's Director's Award....
