Ala. Calls For Deepwater Trial By Year's End
The state of Alabama on Tuesday urged the judge overseeing the Deepwater Horizon multidistrict litigation to deny BP PLC's bid to further delay a trial originally set for February, saying the matter should be heard this year and ideally as early as July.

BP Oil Spill Deal Unfair To 200K Victims, Miss. AG Says
Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood attacked the proposed $7.8 billion settlement of private claims against BP PLC over the Macondo oil spill Wednesday, contending the deal should include nearly 200,000 victims who signed releases when they received payments from BP's private claims facility.
