Stryker Can't Shake Hip Device Class Action
A federal judge in Massachusetts on Wednesday declined to block a putative class action accusing medical-device makers Stryker Corp. and Howmedica Osteonics Corp. of manufacturing a defective artificial hip, ruling that the Food and Drug Administration's approval of the device did not preempt claims from being brought under state law.
