Trump's New York Trial: Day 18

Frank G. Runyeon | 05:31:10 PM

Trump returns to the courtroom shortly before 5:00 p.m. as the attorneys hover over massive stacks of paper on their desks. The judge returns.

“Ok, where do we stand?” Justice Merchan asks. Both sides have largely agreed on the pages for the readback, but Trump’s attorneys want to limit how much of Pecker’s testimony about the Trump Tower meeting comes in. It looks like about 35 pages, with a few disputes that the judge will rule on before tomorrow morning.

“I’ll see you tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m.” the judge says.

Trump walks out of the mostly-empty courtroom as stenographers chat loudly in the well and prosecutors mill about. It’s a very different dynamic with the jury out. The focus seems to have shifted away from the defendant somewhat.
